  EXECUTIVE BOARD

Sports Club America is a social sport league that originated as Sports Club ON (Old Navy) in the spring of 2004. The idea was originally outlined on a cocktail napkin at Acme Chophouse before a Giants game (excellent happy hour specials for all you fans). Disheartened by a previous softball league experience we dreamed of a league where — teammates could raise their glasses together, losing wasn’t the end of the world and player theme songs were appreciated. In 2005, Sports Club ON evolved into Sports Club SF, which continued through five seasons of kickball games, bar crawls, smack talking and many, many flip cup games. In 2009, we started laying down plans to expand to other cities, and launched as Sports Club America.

Chrissie Leibman
Chief Executive Officer, Founder

This Colorado native is known for bringing her A game. Don't let the sweet tone of her voicemail deceive you; she not just another girl next door. As the younger sister of two older brothers, Chrissie found herself on the playing field at an early age. She worked her way up the ranks of girls' soccer and rounded out her portfolio with her basketball experience. Bound for bigger things, Chrissie packed her bags and migrated west to California for college. She decided to hang up her cleats and this once-upon-a-time tomboy became the newest member of the Delta Gamma family. Again, she worked her way up the sorority ranks and eventually became president. Chrissie moved to San Francisco after college and soon found herself as a member of San Fran's own "sorority" as a Gap girl. These days Chrissie simply loves life in San Fran. She never misses the chance for a good time and is often found pouring shots from atop the Fishbowl bar, at happy hour until midnight, wrangling the troop as captain of an elite kickball team, helping SF's singles find love at When Frankie Met Sally (speed dating), embarrassing herself on the karaoke stage or rocking out to 80's music. Is it any wonder why she will be leading the Sports Club social endeavors? On or off the field, watch out gentlemen, this girl's got game!

Julie Miknis
Vice President of Sponsorships

Julie is born a competitor. While Julie didn’t begin walking until the age of 2, she began speaking at six months, as most gifted children do. She credits this early feat to the hours spent in front of the television watching Price is Right and learning to play Yahtzee before she was even old enough to hold the dice. Growing up in Petaluma, Julie was a busy child – playing most sports for about two months, then quitting, including but not limited to: baseball, soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, karate and bowling. After a long-winded childhood career of winning of 1st-8th grade Spelling Bees, receiving the most outs in softball for 7 years running (still holds the record) and being voted “most bossy” in Junior High, Julie decided to take her talents elsewhere as a cheerleader. For six years, Julie danced and yelled her way to the hearts of millions through her multiple ESPN appearances (PHS TROJANS #1). After ego faded, Julie retired to focus on studies at UCLA, however maintained a competitive edge through recreational games of tug-a-war, flip cup and appearances on Shop til You Drop and Family Feud. To this day, Julie still loves to cheer, yell and belittle the competition, and can most easily be recognized by the high shrill voice screaming “smells like second place.”

Jesse Caid
Vice President of Game Day Logistics

Maybe the only Sports Club member who can out-loud the rest of the board, Jesse has been playing with SCSF since its inception. A mainstay on the local Flag Football and Kickball scenes, Jesse is known for his astonishing recall of rules and his "friendly" banter with opposing teams. He is a master of all board games and will give you Trouble and make you Sorry at the same time! Recently, he took his skills to the small screen and won Wheel of Fortune, although the Jeopardy appearance still eludes him. Jesse spends most of his time attending trivia nights, watching U$C football, pretending to hold on to his youth and trying to convince people he is not a d-bag. He looks forward to beating your team this season...

Oliver Chang

Vice President of Special Events

Blessed with a mother whose finger was directly on the pulse of follicle fashion, Oliver was always sent to school sporting the latest and greatest in bowlcut stylings. A trendsetter from an early age, his popularity skyrocketed when he was the first of his peers to successfully sport the potent combination of glasses and braces past adolescence and deep into adult life. Upon being unceremoniously stripped of aforementioned social enhancers, Oliver was left but a hollow shell and forced to refocus his efforts within. His soul searching endeavors led him through the highest peaks of the Himalayas, the lowest valleys of self-introspection, and straight to the Sunday Funday debauchery that is Sports Club America. Once again complete, these days Oliver can be found schooling fools in 90s music trivia, biking into stationary objects, and on the field kicking your team’s ass with delicious adult beverages (yes, plural) in hand.
